Arrived in a wet uk. Not Southland driving rain but more a steady vertical wetness. Tiring on motorways peering through walls of spray at 100kmh. So have broken the journey to have a look at Liverpool. A city I’ve never visited but steeped in a rich history. The buildings depicted here are part of Pier Head and are designated world heritage status in recognition of the fact they are stunning reminders of how important a port this city was when The British Empire ruled much of the planet. This city was at the centre of trade between Britain and its Empire. Beside it are the Beatles Museum, Albert Docks and a very flash shipping centre as well as the ferry (across the Mersey).
So there it is tonight Victorian Liverpool!
