Fairy tale city

11 November 2012

Disrupted sleep can be frustrating but today it was a gift as I decided to go for an early morning walk to Pragues most famous bridge Charles bridge. Not only breathtakingly beautiful but massive. Wide enough to carry a significant road and 520 meters long. Commissioned in 1357 it was the only crossing point of the Vlatav River until 1741. Known to the locals as Karlev Must. It is lined by stunning paired statues of various Saints , which compliment the city spires to give a magical skyline.By day the cobblestones are teaming with tourists, picpockets and hawkers making it almost unpleasant but at 6am it is quieter though far from deserted (bring on rain or snow!). Today however was a magical sunrise which I share with you. An I phone creation.
